Thanksgiving is a little more than a month away and is my favorite holiday of the year..I know it sounds weird but I have several reasons. Have you started planning your Thanksgiving Menu?

My husband volunteered me as cook for the family this year since last year we were in Europe for our honeymoon. Being a southern gal, I really do love to cook. I am of the belief that you should “call it up” for this holiday and never should you use store bought anything! Making it from scratch is really important when I am throwing down in the kitchen…right, Andie?

While I cook in the kitchen I really reflect what I am thankful for. I think that is where the “love” comes from. As long as you don’t think of this as a “chore” your dishes will come out beautifully.

Some things I am thankful for:

Right now, I have my health. That could change any day, but for now, I am somewhat healthy.

I have a wonderful and loving husband (who is hot too) :)I have a wonderful and loving mother, who always has believed in me. Mom rules!

My Pops (grandfather) is still around and I hope I get to see him soon! I love you pops!

I have a great friend in my gal friend, Andie

I finally opened my beauty boutique, even when I thought it would never happen.

I still have my happy boy, Finster, my 14.5 year old Yellow Lab

I have wonderful “kitty boyz” Miko and Yum Yum
I have a roof over my head. Maybe not the most fancy in the world, but it’s warm and cozy. And we have a home and have been able to make our payments when so many others have lost their homes.

I am thankful for all of my friends who have been really cool and helpful while I have been crazy opening my boutique. You all RULE and you know who you are.

So, since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, I sit here on a Friday night planning our Thanksgiving Menu.
